Mail bombing is an increasing
problem for email servers, especially where their only protection is software
residing on the same server. When huge numbers of e-mails are directed
to your email server, filtering software can quickly become overwhelmed
bringing your email server to it's knees.
Mail bombs can quickly fill the
allotted space on an e-mail server for the users e-mail and can result
in crashing the e-mail server, or at the very least, possibly rendering
the user's computer useless as their e-mail client attempts to download
the huge amounts of e-mail.
Igaware protects against known
threats including Denial of Service attacks and Mail Bombing.
Where an Exchange Server is in
use, the Igaware box will verify that incoming email is for legitimate
users on that server before it is forwarded on. This has a major advantage
over on Server filtering solutions as only legitimate emails reach your
email server.
